Project Proposal


Group name : 2-11

Project theme : Reduce , Reuse, Recycle

Project category : Edutainment

Type of material : Paper

Application name : Paper Kids

Objective :
-To provide an awareness among the kids about the importance of reduce, reuse and recycle papers.
-To give information on ways to recycle papers.
-To show the kids consequences of disposing paper wrongly.
-Allow kids to experience the DIY of recycling paper themselves.

Target audiences:
Age - For kids range from 5-12 years old.
Gender - Male and Female
Language - English (Primary school level)
Computer level - Beginner
Education - Kindergarten & primary school
Location - Malaysia

Metaphors:
In order to let our users to have a better understanding on the idea of reduce, reuse, recycle of paper, we are going to include:
i. Some brief history of reduce, reuse, recycle campaign to our users.
ii. Introduction of different kind of papers and the definition of paper will be provided.
iii. Causes and effects of disposing papers in a wrong way will be included as well.
iv. The importance of recycling paper in our life.
v. Process of how to recycle paper will be demonstrated in a DIY session.
vi. Various pictures of disposing papers wrongly and its causes & effects will be added in the project to educate the kids.

Interactive, audio & visual sense:
i. History of reduce, reuse and recycle will be presented in timeline diagram using the 3 recycle bins where users can choose to view which category. Timeline diagram will be a clickable text and image and simple text of information will be provided.
ii. Different kinds of paper and its definition will be presented in a pictorial manner with clickable image.
iii.Buttons with sound effects and transition will be used to create interests of the kids.
iv.In order to guide through the whole project, "Paper Man" the avatar will guide the kids.
v. Project of teaching the kids the correct way to reproduce the unused papers themselves will be added in it.
vi.Flash on how to plant tree and some mini educational games will be added to help the kids understand the right ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
